SPOLETO
Spoleto,
marvellous city gently lay on a hill's slide, distinguished
by a strong medieval aspect inherited by the period in which
it was under the influence of Longobardi but also characterized
by the presence of some elements dating back to the Roman
epoque such as the Druso's Arch (23 a.D.),
the Roman house owned by Vespasiano's mother and the beautiful
Roman theatre.
Spoleto identify itself in
the presence of its Duomo, a magnificent
Romanesque church keeping Pinturicchio's and Filippo Lippi's
frescoes.
A short walk toward the Rocca Albornoziana
will give you the possibility to admire an enchanting panorama
on Tessino's valley as well as the magnificent Ponte
delle Torri (XIV cent.).
Spoleto hosts also a famous festival known as Festival
of the two Worlds, organized every year between the
end of June and mid-July.
